Okay, many people have requested these over the years . . . so without further ado. We stopped making these Christmas cards several years ago, but who knows, they just might make a comeback. With a little creativity, some Photoshop magic, a few arguments, some bad attitudes (mostly from the kids), and oftentimes a giant mess, it was generally a blast.
Honestly, wish we had taken behind-the-scenes shots for some of the earlier cards—truly laughable. We didn’t have studio lights back then, so Shane used whatever was around the house: flashes, lamps, phones, flashlights—nothing was off the table.
The first couple of years we were a trifecta, and by year three, we had a couple of buns in the oven. Yep, twins! We initiated this project with Guitar Hero, then we did “Little People” because Gavin was obsessed.

Then we played into what people thought our life looked like with twins, and although exaggerated, it didn’t feel too far off some days. Perhaps, never this messy, but we had more baby gear and diapers than you could imagine. The following year, I (Shane) may have been watching a little too much Duck Dynasty. But c’mon, ya gotta love that luscious flowing beard, and yes, the girls are playing with squirrels! The beard caught on—I kept it.

Lastly, we have the food fight. The girls were not very happy with me (Shane). Cap it off with a simple, less-is-more pajama-style shoot with some props, and presto. See, we were doing the minimalist thing before it was a thing. The last one is the “Pièce de résistance” of our card collection. This gem adorns the wall of our dining room. It’s an ode to the ’80s. You’ve probably been to Grandma’s house where one of these puppies is still going strong on the living room wall. Jenny’s cobra-like hairdo, our coordinated thrift store attire, and some floating heads; still cracks us up.

Anywho, hope you enjoyed them. Let us know which is your fav!
